Join the Ride:London – Canterbury

Up for a challenge? Want to embark on an adventure that will raise funds and create opportunities for hundreds of young people from estates in London to thrive?

This May, a group from Regenerate will cycle from London, 1000 miles into Europe and through 10 countries, over the Alps, and eventually ending up in Venice 2 weeks later. This will be a life changing journey that will test many limits, but will bring people from all walks of life  together, and allow the team to find a new sense of what they can overcome and achieve; inspiring young people by showing that anything is possible.

As part of this, we will be doing a big group ride from London to Canterbury, and are looking for some brave riders to do something amazing and join us on the challenge.

**Our trip aim is to raise awareness of our work, and we have a fundraising target of £50,000 which will help fund the running of our projects; creating support and opportunities for hundreds of young people to overcome significant barriers. We will share instructions on how to set up a JustGiving page, and we ask that all riders commit to a target of at least £250 to contribute to our total.

Other Practicalities

Food:

Regenerate will provide lunch and some food at the end of the ride. This will not include any extra coffee stops, snacks or drinks other than water.

The Route:

We have planned the route using the ‘Kamoot’ app. The route will be shared with all riders to download on smart phones and follow, and we encourage cycling in groups.

Training:

It is essential to train and get used to cycling on roads before the ride. To do a ride like this requires a level of fitness, to be on your bike for between 5 and 8 hours, and you will need to have your own road worthy bike.
